Thursday, July 29, 2010 - A late afternoon thunderstorm on Thursday, July 29, created numerous calls for service in the Midlothian Area. Engine 5 assisted with a structure fire in the Greenfield Subdivision area. There was also a structure fire in the Stonehenge Subdivision handled by companies from outside the Midlothian area. Prior to those calls, Brush 5 and Engine 205 were being dispatched to calls concerning power lines down, transformers on fire, and trees across the roadway. One of the lines down calls for which Brush-5 was dispatched turned into a tree on a house (no injuries). District Chief-5 requested assistance from Engine 205 and we assisted the homeownerin partial removal and setting up a safe zone around the structure. The building inspector was subsequently called to evaluate the safety of the structure.
Thanks to all who responded.
